Tween Movie Night

Last night I saw the "Twilight" movie with some girlfriends. After reading the books, I really looked forward to the movie. I know movies are never as good as the books, but I heard good things and wanted to see how they put it on the big screen.

It was clearly a movie made for 14-year-old girls. The acting was okay most of the time, but overall the movie was a disappointment. For instance, there's a scene in the book where Edward glows when he's in sunlight (Edward is a vampire). The book gave such a graphic description of how beautiful he was when the sun hit him. In the movie, it was hard to tell that anything even changed when he was in sunlight. It was like they sprayed a little glitter on his face and called it good enough. I would have thought, with all of the special effects available, they could have really done something with that. Disappointment.

So, if you've loved the books, don't feel like you have to run out to see the movie. It's lame. Stick with reading the stories, and you'll like it much better.

I heard the same thing on the news about hiring this time of year. Hang in there and stay positive.
